THIS IS HOW WE BUILD
Trek Fuel MX Carbon. Whistler, BC.
There's a version of mountain biking that's defined by what you spend, what you run, and who's talking about it. This build isn't that.
The bike you're about to watch get assembled is a Trek Fuel MX Carbon — one of the most capable trail frames available. Built up not to impress anyone, but to perform. We don't pick parts based on hype. If a component is on the bike, it's there because it earned its place. And yes, that includes the bolts.
The video was filmed by Adrian Martinez in Whistler, BC. I built the bike. Here are the details:
THE HARDWARE
Most people think about titanium bolts last when building a bike. We think about them first.
Here’s the setup on this build:
-
Stem: Grade 5 titanium. Handles the trail chatter and won’t seize or cold-weld into your aluminum parts after a rainy season.
-
Controls: Sram matchmaker X makes a clean cable actuated cockpit. The gold details on it make the best out of it.
-
Rotors: Our full Ti rotor bolt kit. Light, tough, and locked down.
-
Bottle Cages: Clean titanium hardware, because details matter.
-
SRAM Maven Calipers: Heavy-duty kits built specifically to match Maven power. (Lever bolts are coming next—preview on the product page).
THE PHILOSOPHY
Performance over hype. That's not a tagline — it's a filter.
This Fuel EX isn't built around what's trending or what gets the most engagement. It's built around what works. High-end components chosen because they make the bike faster, more reliable, and more fun to ride. Not because someone gifted them, not because they photograph well, and not because the algorithm rewards them.
Titanium fasteners fit that same filter. They're not cheap, and they're not flashy (unless you want them to be — hello, Oil Slick). They exist because gram for gram, corrosion resistance for corrosion resistance, they are simply the right call on a bike built to be ridden hard in a place like Whistler.
THE SHIRT — AND WHO GETS IT FIRST
If you've watched the video, you noticed the shirt.
The shirt is real, it's coming, and the people who already bought the first one get first access.
Pre-sale is exclusively open to original Ti Bolt shirt owners. If that's you, watch for your email — you'll have early access at a reserved price before it opens to the public.
Everyone else will be able to get the shirt when it officially launches, at the standard retail price.
We built the first shirt for people who were in early. This is how we look after them.
